Classic Macaroni Cheese, Easy, Cheap and Simple to make

Ingridients for Classic Macaroni Cheese

700ml full-fat milk.

2 onion , peeled and chopped fine.

3 garlic clove , peeled and crushed.

A pinch of dried herbs. 350g macaroni. 2 tsp butter.

50g plain flour.

175g mature cheddar cheese, grated.

1 tsp whole grain mustard.

50g Parmesan , grated.

50g coarse white breadcrumbs.

Serves 4 persons

Prep 15 mins.

Directions for cooking Classic Macaroni Cheese.

To prepare all the ingredients for our pasta dish: heat the milk in a small pan until just before starts to bubble and boil.

then add the onion, garlic and the pinch of mixed herbs turn off The heat gently stirring and after one minute. remove from the heat.

Set the pan aside for ten minutes stirring gently two or three times while the flavours are mixing together.

Cook the macaroni in a pasta pan with enough water to well cover the past.

The best pasta pans have a separate but integral pasta drainer or colander containing the pasta cook the pasta according to the instructions until only just tender but not soft.

Boil then simmer in the pasta pan for about 10 mins.then take out the pasta drainer with the pasta from the from the cooking pan to drain off then run the pasta drainer/colander under the cold water tap quickly and very briefly then stir to stop the pasta sticking together.

To finish off the sauce, simmer on heat and slowly stir the warm milk and add a little flour little by little until the sauce starts to thicken. simmer for 3-4 mins, stirring often.

Remove the pan from the heat, then add the grated cheddar cheese and mustard, season to taste then stir and add to the heat until the cheese has melted into a creamy almost golden coloured mustard and cheese sauce.

Pour the cheese sauce into the macaroni and mix to make sure it is all coated with this wonderful,.

Put the contents into a large oven dish.

Mix the Parmesan and breads crumbs together the sprinkle the Parmesan and breadcrumbs mix over the top of your pasta.

Bake in a hot oven 180 degrees for 15-20 mins or until golden brown and bubbling.

Serve piping hot on its own or with a green or herb salad.

Some hot crusty bread rolls.add that extra to this classic easy meal.
