With this dish try to buy a single cut of venison meat all from the same cut of the meat like all from the shoulder, or all from the leg.
Using mixed cuts will require various cooking times, so you could end up with some tender.
Some dry and some just tough so make sure it’s all from the same cut of meat.

1/4 cup self rising flour.
1 pound of venison meat, cut into 1-inch cubes.
3 tablespoons butter.

2 teaspoons beef bouillon granules.
3 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce.

5 medium carrots peeled and cut into 3/4-inch slices.
2 tbsp of dried mixed mushrooms.
3 sticks of celery chopped rough.
2 medium onions, chopped.

1 cup self raising flour.
1 teaspoon baking powder.
1/2 teaspoon salt.
/2 tbsp mixed fresh chopped Basel and thyme herbs.
1/2 cup milk.

Heat your oven to 180 degrees.
Heat up a large casserole dish
Into a large plastic bag, put in flour and the venison and shake to coat the meat with flour then put aside on plate.
Add a little butter to hot casserole dish and fry / cook the meat stirring to brown it all over.
Add water; stir to the heated loosen the cooking residue from the pant and frying process. (The browned bits left in the pan).
Add the water, bay leaves, bouillon, granules,
Worcestershire sauce, salt and pepper to taste.

Bring to a boil.

In a medium size bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, salt and dried herbs.
Stir in the egg and milk just until the dough is just moist, not wet.
Divide your dough into 8 portions and mould or roll into balls carefully using a spoon put your dumplings into your simmering casserole stew.
Make sure there is enough space between each dumpling. to expand without touching or they may stick and break when you lift them out.
Cover and simmer cook for a further 10 minutes.
Take off the cover and cook for another 10 minutes or until the dumplings are a golden brown.
