The Harvey Wallbanger only has a couple of ingredients this simple but great cocktail relies on a quite ancient liquor to give it its distinctive flavour.
This great cocktail's prime ingredient is Galliano which is made from many ingredients and it is important to understand just how much effort, care, and attention goes into the contents of each bottle.
The liqueur comes from Italy and is easily recognized by its unique long-necked clear bottle which allows its yellow colour to shine through it.
Galliano is the most notable ingredient in this very popular cocktail it is made from infusing a complex group of ingredients when drunk on its own it has a full smooth flavour that fills your mouth with fresh aniseed flavours that seem to balance with the sweet vanilla.
These are the main ingredients in this complex but very pleasant brew Mediterranean anise, juniper, musk yarrow, ginger, lavender and peppermint as well as vanilla with its delicate aroma and cinnamon with its spicy touch.
Vanilla is the most important ingredient in Galliano.
Neutral alcohol is infused with the pressings from all herbs and plants with exception of vanilla.
The liquid is distilled and then infused with pressed vanilla. In the final stage distilled water, refined sugar and pure neutral alcohol are blended with the base.
With 30% alcohol by volume, Galliano possesses a unique, complex, intense, yet mellow aroma.
The vodka gives it that' zing and Galliano adds the delicate complimentary flavour.
Personally a little more of the Galliano and vodka - but that is my personal taste.
