This cheaper cut of beef is often ignored but this slow cooked recipe cooked in red wine is one tastiest,wonderful tender very meat deliciously full of flavour.

Beef and Vegetables Slow cooked in Red Wine is great any time but slow cooked is absolutely succulent and very tasty too.

Ingredients for this slow cooked beef in red wine.

1kg Braising of shin beef.

2 tbsp olive oil

250g streakyunsmoked bacon chopped roughly.

1 med peeled & chopped onion.

1 crushed clove of garlic your choice if you want.

2 tbsp plain flour.

2 cups full bodied red wine.

1 bay leaf.

12 small whole shallots.

2 chopped carrots.

1 tsp freshly ground black pepper.

1 tsp of mixed dried herbs.

Trim any excess fat off the meat and cut into 1 inch cubes.

Heat the olive oil in a large pan on medium heat

Lightly cook the meat go brown it on all sides.

Transfer to the your slow cooker or crockpot pan.

Gently fry the carrots, onion and garlic for about minutes before adding the bacon for a further 3 minutes stirring gently.

Mix in slowly the flour,then add the red wine,and stir until well combined.

Bring the contents boil, then add the bay leaf, onions and seasonings.

Transfer to the slow cooker 0r crockpot pan.

Set the cooking heat to low then cook for for 8 hours before checking the contents,you can increase the cooking time if required

Ideal Serving companions for this slow cooked meal are as follows small new boiled potatoes fried a little crisp and just browned for 2 to 3 minutes.

Add some chopped Basil for garnish decoration for this delicious winter warmer great meal.
