Honey Roasted Drumsticks Barbecue Sauce

This is a Cheap Easy to Prepare Simple to make cost saving meal.

It is healthy substantial meal deal for those on a restricted budget.

Chicken drumsticks are a favorite food for most children as well as grown ups it is a healthy very tasty filling meal we all can enjoy and it costs so very little.

Ingredients for Honey Roasted Drumsticks Barbecue Sauce

Serves 4 persons.

4 tbsp butter.

4 oz /100 gm onions skinned and finely chopped.

6 tamatoes just cut in half.

3 garlic cloves, skinned and chopped very fine (optional).

400 gm (14 oz) can of chopped tomatoes, and juice.

2 tbsp (30 ml) Worcestershire sauce.

1 tbsp clear soft honey.

Salt and freshly ground pepper season.

6 oz (100 g) long grain rice (brown rice is the healthy option).

10 chicken drumsticks.

4 large wild mushrooms preffered, 6 tomatoes cut in half and fresh herb salad pack and some fresh Basel to add for your garnish.

Cooking Method for honey roasted drumsticks

To make the barbecue sauce, Mix and combine together the butter, onions, garlic (optional), can of tomatoes, Worcestershire sauce, honey and a little salt, you can always add more if required and freshly ground pepper add all these thoroughly mixed contents to a saucepan.

Cook/simmer for 30 minutes stirring gently from time to time.

Add, the rice in a saucepan cover well with boiling water,bring to the boil and simmer until just tender, but not soft.

Drain off all the water and set on one side and keeping the rice hot.

Place the drumsticks on the grill pan and brush on plenty of the barbecue sauce. then place the mushrooms and tomatoes around the chicken brush on some sauce not too much and turn them to as they cook for about 8 minutes.

Grill the drumsticks for about10 minutes on each side depending on the size of the drumsticks, brushing the drumsticks frequently with more sauce during the grilling.

Take your hot drained rice and serve your honey roasted chicken drumsticks on a bed of rice garnished with grilled mushrooms and tomatoes and the selection of fresh herb salad or fresh Basel leaves.

The remaining sauce can be added separately as required.
