Turkey Drumsticks recipes

My favorite way to east this easy meal is to strip the crispy cooked meat off the turkey leg or thighs and lay the turkey meat onto a fresh crusty or warm bun with some added crunchy lettuce, a little fresh coleslaw, and a little sweet chili sauce that makes it into the most delicious tasty eating experience.

Turkey cutlets recipes as well as turkey leftover recipes can be cooked following this easy and tasty simple method that provides such great delicious food.

4 x 700g turkey drumsticks or cutlets or for turkey leftover recipes.

For a marinade:

12oz can of bitter beer.

120mls cider vinegar.

240mls water.

60mls oil.

2 tbsp Worcester sauce.

2-3 tsp Cajun spice mix.

The evening before, make up your marinade then prick tiny holes with a sharp fork over all the turkey legs.

Use about 1/3 of the marinade to brush and coat over the turkey. Cover with cling film and leave in the fridge overnight.

The next day prior to cooking remove the drumsticks from the fridge, and add your own amount salt and pepper then leave to bring up to room temperature for about 30 minutes.

Turn on the barbecue, using part of the gas jets. Heat to 120°C (250° F), checking the temperature heat in the bbq with a thermometer.

If you are using a traditional wood chip or briquettes type bbq place your fuel only on one side and cook on the other side first Place the turkey away from direct heat first on the coolest part of the barbecue and cover with the lid.

Cook for 30 minutes, then brush and cover again with your marinade.

Continue cooking over that very low heat, brushing the drumsticks every 30 minutes.

To check they are cooked completely - you should be able to part the meat from the bone easily even better poke your finger through meat there should be with little resistance after 4 hours of gentle cooking.

If you wish you can leave it for up to 6 hours.
